Baroque Chair Armchair Vintage Gothic Flamed Flamed

This chair has been totally flamed. At up to 1000 degrees, the beech wood was severely burned on the surface and immediately cooled down again. This ancient Japanese technique is typically used for preserving wooden facades. I use this technique on furniture to get a particularly unusual surface. Unlike wooden facades, there are still many work steps to be done after firing. First of all, the chair had to be stabilized because all the connections had become loose. The ash was consolidated in a special process, odorless and no black hands!
The result of the burning is the typical crocodile skin that creates beautiful light reflections even in low light.
The black soft velvet cover harmonises classically with the frame.

This chair is unique and of course a one-off!
